MessageI, too, am researching the Eversden family. My gt. gt. granmother was Ann Eversden born 1800 in Cambridgshire. Not in either of the Eversdens but I feel there must be some connection to the villages. She married a William Barnet Stuart of Cambridge. I have her needlework sampler dated 1812. Can anyone help me? Maybe I have some info which might help one of your contributors.
Good luck with your site.

MessageI've enjoyed reading various items on your website. I must be related to your town. My father was Robert Eversden of Toledo, Ohio USA. His father was Carson Eversden of Clyde, Ohio USA. I would love to hear from anyone who might know of a connection for our family.

Thanks, Mary Ellen (Eversden) Meeks

MessageIt worked that time. It's the last digit that was the problem! The figure has moved on now. (Ed.)

MessageWhat A Lovely Site!!! After hours at this screen hitting dead end after dead end researching my ancestors - Frederick and Ann Day, who lived at Council Housing - # 3 Chapel Road, Great Eversden
I can see the house in my mind now.
What great memories during the years 1965, 1966, 1967 I have of that "row" house with the outside toilet. As a 10 year old girl from the beautiful state of Alabama, I found bathing in a galvinized tub in front of a coal fire, Nana Day tucking me in at night with a "hotwater bottle" for my cold feet, and relieving myself during the night in a "porcelin pee pot" very, very exciting.
My mother, Patricia Louisa Elizabeth "Day" Blake took me to her home Chapel Road during my 3 mos. summer break from school and I could write book after book about all the experiences I had there in Great Eversden - #3 Chapel Road.
I would really love to know if anyone knew the Day Family and if they have any information that could help we with my current family research.
I have some priceless pictures, especially of St. Mary's, where my mom and all her siblings were married, the festivities after were at the HALL also on Chapel Road. Both grandparents, along with 2 uncles, 2 aunts are buried in St. Mary's also. A picture of these graves would mean the world to me.
Thanks again for this site. Keep up this very must appreciated work and please let me hear from someone. Would love to share stories. Ann J Blake

Messagenever been to the Eversdens, but Eversden is my maiden name, there aren't that many Eversden's in any phone book, so I think it's quite an unusual name...I've always wondered if there was any connection or if it is just one of those strange coincidences....or indeed, just a name picked by immigrants at some point...

MessageHaving been researching my family tree and finding several generations 1880 - 1900+ (Course, Wick & by marriage Bester & others) I stopped by in the villages last week. Lovely! I will be back when hopefully not quite so windy (perhaps a vain hope?!). I hope my ancestors realised what a lovely place they lived in. Anyone with knowledge of these family names are invited to make contact if that is possible via the site.
Great website.

MessageLocation: Little Eversden
I live in Little Eversden and it is a lovely quiet place. However I think it is lacking a certain community place such as a local pub or shop. Does anyone know when the Wheatsheaf is going to re-open or if there are any plans for the shop? smilie
