MessageCiao Fallascoso!
Thank you for this website Pietro! You're doing a great job! I love it.
I miss Fallascoso so much and all the beautiful people in it! Those were the best three months of my life! We have to buy a house nearby!
On a bad day I go back into my memory and picture the beauty of the valley looking over the biggest mountains ever, from Piazza Cardinale Di Iorio. Mama Mia what a treasure!
I just read an article in "International living' all about Abruzzo, how it is an undescovered Tuscany and how it is a good time to buy real estate there. Yeah duh!!
If you haven't been to Fallascoso...Go!!!
My heart is there!

MessageThe scrippelle (crepes in chicken broth) gnomes have finally arrived from Abruzzo, Italy! We locked them in the kitchen and they are hard at work preparing the food for the Valle San Giovanni luncheon at noon on Sunday, 7 October 2007 at DiPaolo's Italian Ristorante in Penns Grove, NJ. All "Vallaroli" (people from La Valle, i.e. Valle San Giovanni), their guests and friends are welcome. Reservations appreciated but not mandatory, just pay $20 at the door. Buon appetito!

....................................... ..................................... Wish I could be there. Webmaster- Fallascoso.com

MessageI am looking for any surviving family of ours that remain in Italy. My family was Carmela Maria Cocco 1875-1927 and Crocinto D'Eramo 1870-1921. They came back and forth from Italy and the US several times. One of their children was my grandmother Jovanina D'Eramo . After she died in 1978. The family lost our ties with the family in Italy. I am curious to find family if there is any left. We were told that all of our family left there was slaughter when the Nazi's took over the city. Can you assist me in this matter?

MessageHello,
I found this site as I was looking for my Grandmother's town in Italy. She lived in the Provinca of Chieti, Abruzzo She married my grandfather who was from Rome, Her name was Marietta DeRentis not sure of the spelling. My grandfather's name was Amedio Fortuna, my grandfather first was married to my grandmother's sister, she died in Italy shortly after giving birth to a son, Joseph Fortuna. They settled in Phila Pa. and had eight more children. All three of them came by boat around 1910 or around there. My grandmother had flaming red hair. My uncle Joe visited Chieti in the early 1980's Like his father he was a shoemaker. Any information would be greatly appricated.
Thank you.
