MessageThis museum is amazing. So much to see and learn about.

A must see by anyone who is interested in Maori traditions, customs and colonial NZ life. Ian Day, the manager, is a wealth of information and I spend a good 20-30 minutes asking him countless questions. It was a delight in meeting and chatting to him. Thank you Ian.

MessageWe arrived in Christchurch for a driving holiday of the South Island. Had already found this museum on-line and made it one of our places to see. We were not disappointed. This is an incredible collection in both quality and volume. Our only regret is that we didn't allocate enough time to spend at this complex. A person could easily spend a whole day here, and still not see everything.
We highly recommend this museum which is a little over an hour's drive from Christchurch. It is far more extensive than Christchurch's own.
