MessageHello Joan,

Having just finished reading "Growing Older", which I picked up at the Connecting for Change conference last fall, I couldn't help but wonder if you are still doing speaking engagements. In particular, my Marion Garden Group on the south coast of Massachusetts is always seeking engaging speakers.

If you have any plans out our way, I'd love to talk with you about the possibility.

Thank you for the enjoyable and inspirational read. By the way, your photo of a flooded garden is exactly as I had imagined from reading your book, which seems to me a sign of excellent writing!

Kristi

MessageI finished reading "This Organic Life" today, on a cloudy, rainy summer day in Michigan. Thank you for putting words to so many of the reasons why I garden, repurpose, avoid TV, curse woodchucks, and buy local. I am refreshed and renewed by your wisdom.

MessageGreetings, Joan. I just finished reading TOL. I loved it. Please keep spreading the good word about buying local. We need it now more than ever. After reading your book, I am more committed now to getting whatever I can't grow myself from the farmers markets that are gaining traction here in Lincoln, Nebr. One question though: Since the water in the Hudson River is salt water, doesn't it do more damage to your garden than flooding by itself might otherwise do? It's hard to believe salt water infiltration isn't a problem in general where you are, which would make gardening successfully very difficult. Thank you so much for your hard work. --Rachael

MessageHi Joan. I enjoyed your interview. it is evident that you have contemplated most if not all aspects of our planet's future. I was wondering if you ever considered population control as a means to a sustainable planet. The world's population keeps growing and so does the need for food and energy, which contradict sustainability. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

MessageHi Joan! Just finished your book, and I'm so glad I checked it out. My husband and I live on a farm in Iowa. I was raised in California too. I have so many garden questions for you. Would it be possible to send you a letter with a self addressed & stamped envelope?

Cheers, Karen Yakovich
