MessageMy Dear, Sweet Mary Beth,

Being old enough to be your grandmother, I must tell you that I have never, never understood why allows bad things to happen to good people. And there are many other questions along this line. If that question is still important to us in heaven, I know He will have a ready answer for all of us.

In the meantime, I do believe God answers prayers. Sometimes the answer is a resounding "No!" which is difficult to understand and accept. But the older I have grown and the more of life's most difficult situations I have witnessed, I am absolutely positive that "No" in certain situations is the best answer, though difficult to accept. And, it is the most difficult to understand, as you stated, why a loving God allows certain things to happen to such wonderful loving and trusting people. Really, it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to understand.

But, the other thing I am ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, certain about is that God loves all of us and only wants what He only can determine is best. We just can't see it. And the other thing I am ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, certain about is that He is always present to ultimately comfort us --- no matter the situation. His comfort comes from His presence, the friends and family He brings to help us and so many other ways.

He does not stop the storm on the sea or in life, but He CAN still the storm in your heart.

Love you, Admire you, Pray for you and sweet baby Emma,

Joanne Cothran

MessageGod is always listening and even though we may never understand why he does some things, we know he loves us. he is watching over Emma and has blessed her with loving, caring parents. I have a nephew who suffers from many disabilities he was adopted at birth by my brother and his wife. God gave them this gift because he knew that he would blossom under the love of my brother and his wife. Emma is blossoming under your love and will continue to be blessed daily by God's love and the love of you and your family. I am praying for each of you daily!

MessageI grew up with Kathey Ricketts and have been watching for news about Emma on FB. After reading your blog I have doubled my prayers for everyone. I have a special child who is 30 years old and I have learned so much from him. I am praying that Emma will be given the opportunity to touch many more lives for years to come.

MessageRussell, Mary Beth and Emma,
You have been in our constant prayers.
The strength you share with all of us as we read your blog is so heart felt. Your love of our heavenly Father during such difficult times reminds US (the readers ) of the unconditional love and grace of God. Your honesty is refreshing. God is using your blog to touch others. Who knows who may be reading your blog, feeling the same way but afraid to be honest. It is clear Russell and Mary Beth your strength is in the Lord! You and Russell are wonderful parents!!! We continue to pray for his healing for Emma.
May God continue to bless you and keep you honest as you trust only in him who loves Russell, Mary Beth, and Emma beyond what mortal man can understand. God is LOVE!!

I will pray for healing and for strength and faith for you and your husband. God is an awesome God even if sometimes we don't understand the path He places us on. MessageI can only imagine your struggle. As far as resting at home during the night...that doesn't make you bad parents. Just remember...on the airplane where they tell you to put the mask on yourself before helping your child or others...there's a reason. You have to take care of yourself in order to be there to take care of your child. From what all I've read, you are good parents doing the best you can. Don't let others criticize your efforts. They aren't dealing with all that you are. I will continue to pray for you and baby Emma. For peace, health and healing.

MessageWhat a fighter! It makes me smile (even laugh a little) to read about the "tricks" she pulls. I believe you will witness many miracles through Emma over her life time. God definitely has a purpose for her & she is apparently intent on carrying it out! What a beautiful, sweet blessing she is!
