MessageOk this is the deal its not just "people in the stands" it guys in the stands from other teams that are in our league saying all these things in front of our kids, our elders, etc.... To me its different when its just a regular fan, We all are representing not only our team but also the league and situations like this makes the league look bad..... Storm players lets focus on getting ready for Feb 25....

Message@CODIX - It seems you are not getting my/our point. I said earlier that I could care less what is said to me. I hear all kinds of things from the stands and rarely even turn to look at who said it. What I am not wanting is for the fans to say what ever it is they are saying (f#$cking , n@#ga, p^$sy, b%#ch etc) and the kids hearing it. As stated earlier - there are usually only 300-400 tops at these games. You can hear these things being said all the way across the field. Bottom line is we need to shut it down now before it gets worse. All I did was ask that we try to make things better.

MessageFirst most if not all of you make very good points. But lets be real about on thing as men we all did get out of kindergarten where you were taught "Sticks and stones may break my bones but Words will never hurt Me!" It sounds like some like to be able to dish it out but sure don't like it when it comes back. Feb. 25 for some and March 3 for the rest is right around the corner. Lets all get ready to have a great season.

MessageWhat exactly are we (TUFA) marketing? I believe it is an affordable family experience. If that is the case then we should take every step to maintain our focus on making this family friendly. If teams don't agree with that, maybe they don't belong here.

MessageOk so I see we're looking at one side but not the other. The thing is as players we have no business listening or entertaining "fans" while in the middle of a game. Anytime a player has gone after a fan the penalty has been harsh because that player's obligation should be to the game. Even when Artest had a drink thrown at him they still punished him harshly for going into the stands. Now if there's a fight between a fan and a player then unless that fan ran out onto the field or did something truly crazy then the player is wrong. When you ignore fans that take it too far usually other fans or the police will handle it. During the Oilers 1st year we played a game a Law Park where fans were literally right along side of us voicing their opinions but we had to take because it was their right. So we can blame fans all day but they don't look bad if the team and coach acknowledging them! It just comes off to everybody else that they're getting under their skin....But it's your choice though so carry on

MessageI agree with Nuk, Sharky and Trevino. This is not the pros. We have a very small fraction of the resources and crowds than the pros do and last time I checked... We aren't gettin paid to play. No fan has the right to cuss or talk down to any player or coach on the field. The $8 or whatever they spend to get in the game doesn't give them that right. Sponsors are hard enough to get. We don't need some somebody whether its a fan, player or coach ruining it for the league or any other team by running off a sponsor. I have two kids that come to every one of my games along with my wife and other family occasionally. I dont appreciate that childish behavior. It is my responsibility to teach my kids right from wrong but it's also the resposibility of the adults in the stands to be respectful of everyone else, especially kids to act and carry themselves like a respectful adult.

MessageIt seems to me that everybody who is 'okay' with what goes on in the stands, uses the "well it happens in the NFL" argument to justify it. You also have 70,000+ fans in the stands at those games, and a curse word or 'N' bomb isn't being heard across the entire field. Not only that, but I certainly agree that an NFL is not the place to take a 'kid' as a fun day out anymore - a friend of mine recently took his kid to their first NFL game, and left halfway through out of fear of the crowds - we can't and should not justify acting like an idiot because "the pros do it" or "it happens at NFL games"... be better than that - People pour their heart and souls in to this league, and their teams - and while a curse word or 'N' bomb doesn't reflect on an NFL franchise (heaven forbid a player/coach said that in an interview though), it certainly does in our league because of the smaller venues, smaller crowds, and intimate/personal setting of the game - with only 3-400 people in the stands, everybody's voice is heard. If not out of respect for the other people in the stands, be respectful for yourself, and who/what you represent.

Message@ Unbiased and Brandon, Whinning is whinning and its unwise to combat it with the same thing. It's probably not wise to tell other people not to tell other people stuff also. I'm sure if we don't like what you have to say we can walk away, so can you. This is America if you haven't noticed, we can whine all we want just like the fans can cuss all they want. This isn't Pro level and we don't have to take it no matter what you say. When it comes down to it excessive cussing should be grounds for ejection by any and all in the stands and on the field. It may not be illegal but can someone really believe it's right to cuss around children anyway, if so take the escalator down and bring yo sun block. smilie

MessageSharky that's a rather weak point when bringing up the kids and sponsors but nevertheless it's how you feel. At NFL games the stands is the worst place for kids because this is where the all of the madness takes place. Also if you watch the behind the scenes you hear the N word and plenty profanity being used by the players on the field. In fact it almost seems to be celebrated but they make it cute with the infamous "bleep" like we don't know whats happening. That's what Brandon was saying these things are apart of sports culture so you've got to be a professional. It doesn't make it right but which one of us can save the entire world? Kids must be trained at home not at a football game. But my question to you and your coach is as "champions" why even pay attention to what's being said from the stands? And if this did turn away a sponsor, do you think it would be because of the fans talking smack or the team that makes it obvious to pay attention to that smack?...Y'ALL GOTZ TO DO BETTER THAN THAT smilie
