| Message | - Fort Bend Storm vs. Texas Express - Last year, the Fort Bend Storm went 8-2 in the GCFA, eventually going all the way to the GCFA Superbowl, where they won against the Texas Express 31-13. The Storm have lost some key players in some key positions. However, the Storm have found some good replacements in those positions, but the question is whether they've had the time to tune up since their only pre-season game against the Cardinals a couple of weeks ago. The Storm's 1st string defense looked monsterous, although they didn't get much playing time in the pre-season game until the 4th quarter and overtime. Expect the Storm to come out hitting hard, wanting to show why they should be respected in the new league. Last year, I predicted the Texas Express would be the 'dark horse' of the league - and they met and exceeded that prediction. They surprised a number of teams, ending 5-5 in the regular season and obtaining a playoff berth. Although they lost in the Conference semi-finals, some unfortunately circumstances regarding other teams in their conference earned them a spot in the GCFA Superbowl - probably where they deserved to be anyway. The entire team is full of hard working, grits-and-guts kind of players, and I can personally attest that these guys DO NOT GIVE UP, regardless of score, position or anything else. I am not entirely sure who all is returning to this team, but they have a GREAT coaching staff and expect nothing but the best out of them. (Continued Below) |
