Message- Fort Bend Storm vs. Texas Express -
Last year, the Fort Bend Storm went 8-2 in the GCFA, eventually going all the way to the GCFA Superbowl, where they won against the Texas Express 31-13. The Storm have lost some key players in some key positions. However, the Storm have found some good replacements in those positions, but the question is whether they've had the time to tune up since their only pre-season game against the Cardinals a couple of weeks ago. The Storm's 1st string defense looked monsterous, although they didn't get much playing time in the pre-season game until the 4th quarter and overtime. Expect the Storm to come out hitting hard, wanting to show why they should be respected in the new league.
Last year, I predicted the Texas Express would be the 'dark horse' of the league - and they met and exceeded that prediction. They surprised a number of teams, ending 5-5 in the regular season and obtaining a playoff berth. Although they lost in the Conference semi-finals, some unfortunately circumstances regarding other teams in their conference earned them a spot in the GCFA Superbowl - probably where they deserved to be anyway. The entire team is full of hard working, grits-and-guts kind of players, and I can personally attest that these guys DO NOT GIVE UP, regardless of score, position or anything else. I am not entirely sure who all is returning to this team, but they have a GREAT coaching staff and expect nothing but the best out of them.

Message(continued from above)
This game is going down to the wire, and I realize that I am naturally biased toward the Storm, but I predict the Storm take this one by the skin of their teeth. Final Score: Storm 24, Express 21.

This is all just for fun and to promote discussion and analysis. These are just my opinions and don't reflect anyone's opinion other than my own. I never mean any disrespect from my analysis. Just remember - it's all in good fun!

MessageKICKOFF CLASSIC - Predictions
- Spring Heat vs. Woodland Warriors -
Last year, the Woodland Warriors ended 7-2 on the regular season, and but succummed to the 'Heat' of the playoffs in the wildcard. The Spring Heat really seemed to be the Warrior's kryptonite last year, having suffered 3 straight loses to the team from Spring. If what I know about the Warriors is true, they have been working extremely hard this past off-season and are looking forward to some payback!
The Spring Heat finished 5-4 in the regular season, and probably surprised a number of teams in the playoffs, making it all the way to the Conference Championshp where the lost to the eventual Bayou Bowl Champions Texas Beast. From the record last year it's obious that the Heat do well under pressure, and there is little doubt that the team is going to take this game as an opportunity to establish itelf as a powerhouse team in the league.
I expect this game to be a hard hitting, ground and pound game with the Heat relying on their passing game later in the game. Expect it to go back and forth a few times, but I believe that there is an extremely slight edge to the Warriors and they'll ultimately pull it out. Final Score: Warriors 17, Heat 14.
