MessageEve was born only 1 year after my Sarah, and I remember how much we rejoiced about our precious daughters. Our two families went on to spend joyous times together with our 4 children and to celebrate many mutual milestones. My heart goes out to you both-- Barbara and Bob-- and I do understand how much the loss of your radiant Eve will always mean. The fund you've begun in her memory is such a special ever-lasting tribute which will warm the lives of others as Eve warmed your lives during the all-too-brief time she shared with you. Our families' situations may have changed completely since those old days in Boston, but our memories will last forever. My love to each of you. Marilyn

MessageEve was my prom date in high school, and a very close friend during those years. Asking her to the prom was easy, it was a natural choice. She was so warm, and we shared a strong connection that I knew with her it would be just a fun time. She was an integral part of my youth, and I remember a very important conversation with her while sitting under a tree and the moon in a foot of snow. She told me to let go and be myself, or something like that. In high school that's a big idea. It wasn't so much the content though as the context, that we could share meaningful, personal ideas together. We lost touch over the years but did email a bit in 2004 while I was moving abroad. She said if I ever came out to LA to look her up. With great shock, the next time I thought of her and looked her up I discovered the Eve's Fund website.
No matter how we sow and reap
The end of all is endless sleep;
From strife a merciful release,
From life the crowning prize of Peace.

MessageIt's like it was yesterday when we spent time together at Wyatt & Beth's wedding in South Carolina. Although we didn't seem to see each other as often as you got older, during the rehersal dinner, I realized how beautiful and accomplished my cousin had become. We were happy that we had made the trip. You shared time and laughs with Lindsey and seemed to connect with one another. Obviously, no one knew that we would be together again so soon "celebrating your life" at the end of your life. Your loss has been painful and sad however, your memories are with us daily.

MessageI am sorry that I didn't have the opportunity to know Eve. But I know she must have been a lovely girl. She would have had to be with such wonderful parents and so many nice friends. I lost my only sister in January, 2006 so I know the pain. But I know my sister is with me everyday. Just as I know Eve is with you. As Chief Seattle said, "There is no death, only a change of place." Peace be with you, Eve and with your family. Joni Stinson

MessageShe was a friend like no other. What an incredible success she was at everything she tried. I always had the best time whenever we were together. She was the first I would call in good and bad times. Life will never be the same without her voice and songs! I hope she found peace. Love, Meggie

MessageHello Barbara and family. Through a serendipitous click I discovered this website. I remember Eve as a little girl with great fondness. What an incredible loss, and I realize this is years past, but I wanted to send a note. Barbara, I hope you will drop me a note soon. I would love to catch up. I have been living in southern California since my divorce in 1995, and working in the pharma industry. Francie is in the last year of her PhD in developmental biology. Gareth & Tracy are practicing attorneys, Mark is an internal medicine doc. I am single and still working.

MessageI think about Eve often and fondly remember the fun times we had together in law school and afterwards. Eve was with me to celebrate at some of my most memorable moments (the last day of the bar exam, my wedding - just a few I remember the most) and I celebrated many of hers (her graduation from law school, birthdays...) I also remember that we were there for each other at some low points. I am still so sad that I was not there with Eve during the last weeks of her life. I miss her undying friendship, her humor and compassion. Thank you for sharing this beautiful website. What a tribute to our Eve. I will never forget that face, my friend, Eve.
