| Message | Bryce, I know the people who run the place are thoroughly convinced that they mean well, but they are filling your mind with pure garbage and attempting to literally change who you are! This cannot succeed in anyone without major psychological damage. Believe me, I know. I had joined the Boston Church of Christ, whose strength was "discipling:" Christians had Christians over them to mold them into the sort of people that Jesus (read: the church evangelist, IMO cult leader, Kip McKean) would approve of. And being gay was totally out of the question. I was trying to straighten myself out, out of a sense of duty that "you have to obey" God's Word. Lost 2-1/2 years of my life and the damage contiunued for 20 years more.  And I did not fully recover until I recently found out that God's Word is NOT anti-gay, but instead, pro-gay. So hang in there, Bryce! the fact that you found true love before your parents blackmailed and manipulated you into joining the exgay camp you're in means you are STRONGER than I was when I joined the BCoC.
