| Message | Some of the links on your site are no longer active (functional). Just one comment: From the observations of previous scholars, and from what seems (to me) to be sound logic, the proportions of the Great Sphinx are not uniform. The head (as it appears today--2010 A.D.--fashioned in the form of a human face with classic dynastic Egyptian head-dress) is not dimensionally relative to any other part of the monument's lion-like form. Any intelligent person not working with the preconceptions common to modern Egyptologists would deduce--especially in view of the absence of existing records regarding the Sphinx's origin--that Kahfre or other kings from the 3rd to 4th Dynasties refashinoned the stone head in their own (or a generic royal) image. My most nagging questions are 1) why has the doorway noted, along with adjacent tunnels, not been thoroughly investigated and 2) why has the evidence of possible subterranean chambers suggested by sonar instruments not been at least confirmed or debunked by some form of rudimentary drilling or excavation? The answer to both these questions may, of course, be obvious: modern Egyptologists and historians are more concerned with their reputations than finding evidence of any antedilluvean civilization(s). Thanks for the site and info. Best, jbj |
