MessageMy name is Mia Felton and I am a Trustee of the Black Rat Fund which is a Charitable Trust and the welfare fund of 4th Mechanized Brigade - the Black Rats - who are the Brigade which is currently serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan during 2010.

The Black Rat Fund will be holding a Black Rat Rideout on Sunday, 19 September 2010 in Catterick Garrison in aid of the Black Rat Fund and we would like to invite motorcyclists from all over the country to come and take part. Each rider and their passenger(s) will be asked to pay £2 plus a further voluntary donation (we suggest £3 each, making a total outlay of £5 per person) to the Black Rat Fund in order to take part. The reason we are doing this is simple – we need to raise more money so that we can continue to support the soldiers and families of the Brigade in the way that they need and deserve.

All the profits that we make from this event will go into the Fund, and will make a massive difference to the amount of welfare grants and compassionate support that the Fund can provide.

Further information can be found about us and our work on our website at www.blackratfund.org

You can also register for the rideout using our online registration system.

We hope to see you there!

MessageThe AFSC mourn the death of Rob Wainman

Rob slipped and fell this morning and fractured his skull in two places. The bleed and swelling was too much for the surgeons and he passed away in the early hours.

Rob was a passionate stalwart of The AFSC, he always wore his heart on his sleeve, his humor and gentle approach made him a well loved and respected club member who wore his colors with pride. Rob you will be sadly missed.
