| Message | I was fortunate in being able to purchase a lovely stone carving of dancing mother and child with drum and stick of bone. The name on the bottom is the only thing I cannot read. It says Bruce A._____rington or ____rinyton I think. The rest has a phone number which is no longer in existance 705 266 6798. And it says 'Jamed Bay Cree' 2313101 Dancing Inuit Mother. I would love to know who the artist is and more about him. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Message | I am looking for a soapstone carver whose name is: Noah Oh?aytook (I can not make out the third letter)and it is difficult to read. Sanikiluaq NT is scratched into the underside of the black whale. This piece was given to me about ten years ago and is quite beautiful. Can you give me any information about this carver? Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Hi June I knew Noah Ohaytook very well. He was an excellent carver and his specialty was whales and he had a distinctive style all his own. Noah passed away about ten years ago and is survived by his wife, son and daughters. | Message | A few words of greeting to the Soapstone Artists of Sanikiluaq, Nunavut and a special 'Hi!' to Luke and Nellie, whose friendship I still cherish after many years. A small bird carved of soapstone at Sanikiluaq in 1974, and gratefully received by me as a Christmas gift, has a special place in my home. Some people of the Belcher Islands may remember me.
