MessageThis horrific tragedy was my last thought before falling asleep last night. It was my first thought when I got up this morning. It was my first thought leaving a busy day at work this afternoon, and it will be my last thought before going to bed tonight. I will not easily forget this horrific cruelty to pure innocence.

MessageEpitaph for Peanut

"To punish the oppressors of humanity is clemency; "to forgive them is cruelty."

Maximilien Robespierre (1758 - 1794)

“Cruelty, like every other vice, requires no motive outside of itself; it only requires opportunity”
George Eliot quotes (English Victorian Novelist, 1819-1880)

“Men feel that cruelty to the poor is a kind of cruelty to animals. They never feel that it is an injustice to equals; nay it is treachery to comrades.”
G. K. Chesterton quotes (Novelist and Poet, 1874-1936)

“My doctrine is this, that if we see cruelty or wrong that we have the power to stop, and do nothing, we make ourselves sharers in the guilt”
Anna Sewell quotes (English Novelist, 1820-1878)

“Very little of the great cruelty is cruel instinct. Most of it comes from thoughtlessness or inherited habit. Extract from 'Memories of childhood and youth.'”
Albert Schweitzer quotes 1875-1965

“A beast does not know that he is a beast, and the nearer a man gets to being a beast, the less he knows it.”
Philemon George MacDonald quotes

Warm summer sun shine kindly here;
Warm southern wind blow softly here;
Green sod above lie light, lie light -
Goodnight, Peanut,
Goodnight, goodnight.

MessageMy heart goes out to the family of Peanut. How humans can be so cruel just makes me sad. I hope that you can get through this and I hope that the sadistic and heartless people behind this atrocity suffer for the remainder of their days.

MessageIt has been reported that sick people like this have no respect for life (either human or animal)
It brings to mind the disgusting things that happened to Anita Cobby, and those so called people also tortured and did dispicable things to animals and thought it was good fun. They are sick creatures and should be put away for the rest of their lives. They also should suffer some kind of torture to remind them of why they have been put there. I say give them the maximum penalty. So far the law has not come down hard enough on these crimes...It's time something is done. Do something now smilie

MessageThere was tears in my eyes as I looked at Peanut's pictures and reading about what happened to him. I cannot fathom why anyone would do such a thing to an innocent little puppy! smilie I have a dog that looks just like Peanut, too. I am so, so sorry! I really hope those guys suffer horribly for what they did to this precious dog. I just can't believe it! I am so infuriated. Those guys NEED to suffer!!!!! They are sick in their heads and should never see the light of day again. Keep them locked up for the rest of their lives before they go out and do this again to another innocent animal... next will be humans. LOCK THEM UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!!! Justice needs to be served!

MessageDanielle, I'm thinking of you and of Peanut. This is too sad for words. My family dog when I was growing up was a fox-terrier cross. I know how much joy she brought to my life for 14 years. I'm sorry that you and peanut did not have more time together, and that this is because of sadistic idiots makes it all the worse. Your photos of Peanut are beautiful. Young and spirited, he will be remembered!

MessageThis is so sad! I know the feeling to lose a beloved pet to the hands of a cruel animal hating person. I hope for the memory of Peanuts and for Peanuts family that these to ignorant low lives, rot in prison and that they become the new targets for the other hardened criminals.
