I enjoyed this guestbook widget at another site and thought I'd give it a try here.

MessageHello cll spouse,

I have been listening to your pain throughout your story and have been unable to respond for lack of knowing what to say. Your latest chapter heading is an argument I've heard too often. It certainly doesn't stand up to why people who look after their health diligently, get sick. What about the smoker who doesn't get cancer? What about the innocent child?

A car speeding down a city street goes unscathed while on the same city street a piece of metal falls from a truck bed and badly injures a passenger in the vehicle behind.

Your spouse does not deserve cll.

MessageThanks for the comment about the picture! As I looked through my photos, it just seemed the right one to use.

I hadn't given thought to the profounder implications. Certainly, the arrival of an unwanted and uninvited guest like cancer, like the arrival of any grief, triggers the inner child's strengths, weaknesses and unresolved hurts. Your reference to this has stirred my thinking and connected with thoughts about where the story goes next.

By the way, I love your choice of profile picture. smilie So many of us forget that child and her needs until it is impossible to do so anymore. smilie
Thanks again for creating such an evocative read. smilie
