What would you change for next year?more fire, less smoke
MessageWe went with another friend and had a great time. We were one of the early birds that showed up before the doors opened but never had to wait long to get in. Angel was one of the first persons we met when we arrived and she couldn't have been nicer. She told us we could take pictures if we wanted and that was great because so many places don't allow picture taking now days.

I have a ton of photos but hardly any of them came out because of the smoke or fog, so since they didn't come out very good iI'm not planning on submitting them. We're looking forward to all the photos other people took and hope they came out ok. Can't wait to do this again!

What would you change for next year?More drumming time
MessageI thoroughly enjoyed "warming up" with some of the drummers outside, most of whose names I don't remember (except for Azari), but it would have bee nice to have had more drumming/fire spinning or drumming/dancing time. The fire dancers were great, and as a drummer, I enjoyed having all the dancers dancing to our beats... more time for that would have been great.

What would you change for next year? Not sure I would make changes
MessageHats (and masks) off to all who had a hand in making this one great night! We arrived a little late which is why I think we totally missed the fire spinners. Hell, it could have been the tequila ;-)

The location was easy to find and just hidden off the beaten path to make it feel really secure and homey. Everyone did a fabulous job welcoming the folks, answering questions, etc.

I did spend a great portion of my time outside (smoking section) and believe me, the parking lot party also ROCKED! We had the advantage of seeing all the costumes as they arrived and could hear eachother in conversations. Met alot of wonderful people in a fabulous, relaxed, fun setting!

Hope this starts an annual trend!

All of you did such a wonderful job and I am proud that I was there to share in the festivities. I can't wait until next year!! smilie smilie smilie

What would you change for next year?would definitely have the ritual
MessageKaren and Angel did a hell of a job along with all the other volunteers. It was a huge benefit not only for the charity but also for the community as well. Many long time friends were seen again, and many new ones made. smilie

What would you change for next year?maybe have a DJ part of the night?
MessageYou guys did a great job! One suggestion, though: While I have nothing against rock and metal music, I think a DJ playing more dance type music for part of the night or more drumming would get people up, moving and a bit more engaged. Very few people got up for the bands as compared to the number who got up to dance once the spinners cleared the floor during the drumming. So maybe a better mix of styles would do better? I know of a DJ who spun for us at Apollocon who has a great mix of Pagan-ish (Dead Can Dance type), techno, 80s, punk and industrial music as well as stuff that appeals to the con geek crowd (mixes featuring things like the Red Dwarf theme, Star Wars music, etc). If you'd like his info, let me know and I'll get it from the convention folks. You could have DJ part of the night and bands part of the night.

Other than that, I've got no complaints whatsoever. smilie
