MessageMUSTER ROLL OF COMPANY E, 52d REGIMENT
GEORGIA VOLUNTEER INFANTRY
ARMY OF TENNESSEE C. S. A.
TOWNS COUNTY, GEORGIA
"HIAWASSEE RANGERS"

Nelson, Z. Private July 4, 1862. Died in 1862.
Confederate records show he died June 18, 1862 in Knoxville, Tenn. of a fever.

I'm pretty sure this is my ggramdfather b.abt 1817 wife Martha Kilpatrick. Their son Elisha H. b.1844. I wish there was a 1st name other than just Z. My ggrandfather was in 1850 Union,1860 Towns Co. Census but did not appear in the 1870 Census.
Does anyone know more about this Z. Nelson such as where he is buried, etc. or who his parents were? Thanks, Sarah

MessageI am the descendant of Commodore Woody, who was killed in Battle of Vicksburg. His widow, Sarah Ann Elrod Woody, married Jonathan Avander Hollifield. My lineage also ties to Jacob Hollifield, John Nevil Hollifield, and William Hollifield. I am happy to have found this site! Keep the fantastic work and if I may be of assistance in research, please feel free to contact me as I live 10 mins from SE Natl Archives and Ga State Archives buildings.

MessageI served with honor for the years 1983 to 1985 with the BRR at NGC. I currently serve on active duty in Iraq. Thanks for doing what you do. I have my school patch and wore it on my rifle stock till an officer told me to take it off before some ignorant hick thought I was racist or someone was "offended".

The South still lives and has risen again.
