MessageHi Jennifer and thanks.

Don't remember much about the pool, but if I do remember correctly, moral among the guys was at a very low ebb in those early days (1953). So much so, that I want to think it was Edward R. Murrow that paid a visit to GAFB and did a report. Some time later the pool may have been retrofitted, fishing boats and motors bought and placed on Lake Ferguson for us. Other amenities may have been added that I don't remember.

I was more into roller skating and spent most of my time at the rink out on Hwy 82E. I did not own a camera back then, but in retrospect, I wish I did and had taken pictures.

MessageGreat site, lots of great memories for several generations. Great job!

Do you recall the pool on the Air base? It was one of Greenville's five public pools. Now we are down to only one pool, the Bobby Henry Pool. I never swam the Air base pool, but from what I hear it was pretty active back in its day!
