Although, the vet's tests so far have been inconclusive, there is a lesion on her hip bone and they are chasing it like it's osteosarcoma. We go in later this week to see what additional tests will have to be run. I know there is power in prayer and its why I ask for your blessings, that my baby girl be healed. She's an amazing dog: sweet, gentle, caring, and the biggest silliest lap dog ever. She's my heart. | Message | My Luke had a series of five cluster seizures back in March of this year and our vet promptly put him on phenobarbital. Although he did not have any more seizures, we switched to potassium bromide due to high liver counts. Luke was on the loading dose of potassium bromide for almost 3 months when he started having severe difficulty walking straight and judging distance. He just was not himself. At first we thought he was blind but we tested him to see if he could see us, etc. We had recently lost his brother and pal, Samson around that same time and wondered if that had some sort of affect on him. We immediately decided to take him off all medications and noticed a week after doing so he experienced some withdrawl and seemed to get worse. We have since placed him back on a 1/4 tablet of the phenobarbital and follow it with Andenosyl Sam-e to help with the liver count. He still does not walk straight and needs assistance. If he shakes his head as dogs often do, his eyes roll back in the back of his head and he falls over. We know that his tumor has gotten worse and are trying to seperate the emotional from the clinical and do what is best for our Luke. Please pray for us that we make the right decision and that it be made at the right time. I dont want him to suffer. Thank you and God Bless. |
