Type of Cancerspleen and lung
MessageCookie was diagnosed in November of both spleen and lung cancer. The progress of his disease has had its ups and downs. Just when we think this is not the quality of life he deserves, he inspires us with youthful energy. You'd think it would be easier to let a 15 year old dog go, but it's hard to lose part of your family. I appreciate your prayers and pray also for those dealing with the same difficult decisions.

BreedTerrier Mix

Type of CancerLymphoma
MessageMy daughter and I rescued Mitsy from a busy roadway om March 23, 2005 and she instantly became a beloved member of our family. She was approximately one year old when we found her. Last Saturday after a series of tests and x-rays we were told that Mitsy has cancer. Naturally we have begun the grieving process. Mitsy has the kindest eyes and sweetest temperment, and children are never in danger around her; even when toddlers pull on her tail or fur she simply lies down and is very gentle and obliging.

I cannot imagine our home without Mitsy in it. Your prayerful intercession would be most appreciated in a number of ways:

1) That she will not suffer
2) That my family and I will not be selfish when the time comes to let her go.
3) That we will embrace all the joyful memories of Mitsy during these last days and not focus on her departure.

God bless,
Sheryll Mairza

BreedShetland Sheepdog
StateFlorida
Type of CancerVisceral Hermangiosarcoma
MessagePlease pray for Misty, our Shetland Sheepdog, who is 16 years old. I took Misty to the vet last week because she had a cough, wheezing, and abdominal breathing. What I thought was an upper respiratory infection turned out to be an 8 cm by 5 cm tumor on the left side of her heart. Her lungs are filling up fast after she just had the fluid drained from her lungs 4 days ago. She is going down hill at a rapid pace - loss of appetite, pacing for hours at night inside our home, lethargy/weakness, rapid breathing, coughing/wheezing, and depression. We are putting her to sleep tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM (EST) so she can experience peace. Misty is a very special girl that brightened our hearts and made us so happy. We love her so much. We want to be with her before she passes away so we can comfort her and let her know how much we love her.

He is the best loyal dog I have ever had he is just like one of our kids. He would be 11 in May, we have had him since he was a puppy, he is the sole survivor of all his litter mates that all passed away from parvo. Watkins will be grealty missed by his human family and his 2 kitties Cheeto and Darlington. We love you Watkins. Please pray that he wont be in pain and help his 2 human kids get through this hard time.

Type of CancerBladder
MessageJoe - a black Lab/Chow mix - has been the joy of my wife's and my life since we got him the first year we were married (almost 9 years ago). Joe was rescued from a construction site in Texas, and flown to Rhode Island in 2003, where he was treated for heartworm. In the course of getting xrays last week (during the diagnostic process) it was discovered for the first time that Joe carries inside him, around 60 shotgun pellets...apparently before we rescued him he was shot in Texas as a stray but did not succumb to the injury. We never knew this until now! We just started the treatment process for bladder cancer and are hoping we caught it early enough to give Joe a long stretch yet. We would like for Joe to be on the prayer list...he is a dog that has brought much joy into the world and is a courageous guy at the start of this healing process.

Type of Cancerlymphoma
MessageCody is the most faithful, loyal beautiful friend inside and out. She is 11 and was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I found swollen lymph nodes in her neck. The cancer is nearly everywhere, the unknown is the marrow. Following a consult with an oncologist, blood work, xrays, ultrasound and needle biopsy, I elected steroid treatment for her final days. I know all you dog lovers out there who consider your pet a family member know the feelings I am going through. I love this lovely soul with all my heart and it hurts. My love and comforting prayers for all of you are heartfelt as I know how much we love our beloved pets. God bless.
