BreedBasset Hound

Type of CancerLymphatic Cancer
MessagePlease pray for Bubba. He has been diagnosed with lymphatic cancer and has a few months to live. We won't be doing chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant because we can't afford them. He is still acting so healthy that it's hard to think that he actually is sick, but they did a biopsy and that is what they came up with.

MessageMy 3 year old baby girl has been diagnosed
With lymphoma. I decided not to go with chemo and to keep her on the prednisone, change her diet completely and just spoil her so much. I pray (and want everyone else to pray please) that we still have a lot longer with my baby girl than we have been told. And I pray that when the time comes for us to say goodbye that I am strong and she will wait for me on the other side of rainbow! Gosh this is so hard. Life is not fair sometimes! She is only 3!!!

BreedGolden Retriever Service Dog
StateMassachusetts
Type of CancerMast Cell Tumor
MessageMy service dog was dignosed just a little over a month after he began limping without resolve on 11/09/11. Service Dog Lunar or more formerly, Service Dog Lunar Sky has bravely fought the inoperable tumor lodged between two bones in his right front leg.
He did well on Palladia, but Palladia only works so long.
Many organizations such as The Gift of Sunshine and The Land of PureGold as well as the Varis Fund have help Lunar stay alive and have a decent quality of life.
Last Thursday, June 28, 2012 he was staged for the cancer again to see what was what.

The cancer has spread to his spleen. I knew he was not doing well but his brings him closer to our parting. It will be very difficult for me - I rely on him for help with mobility and to alay the isolation that comes from a disability like MS.

Lunar turned 7 on April 20, 2012. He is still young. He came to me in July, 2007. We may make it to 5 years as a team.

The vet recommends 3 treatments of Vinblastin and then a reassessment. Mast cell tumors are aggressive and release histamine which make my Sky Guy's skin itch and it irritates his stomach.

He is brave but he does not want to walk far anymore and he sleeps a lot.

Needless to say this is a very tough time for this team.

We wish everyone else well in their endeavor to erradicate the cancer(s) from their dogs and kitties.

I am mixed on getting another service dog... I lost my first service dog to cancer - melanoma.

Thank you!

Type of CancerLung Cancer
MessageMy dog, Beau, was just diagnosed with lung cancer yesterday. He is a mix between an Old English Sheepdog and a Red BloodHound, he is 9 years old. It was a shock to the family. It has gotten to both of his lungs already and he has only a little bit of time left here. It is hard because he seems so fun and loving, I guess he is putting on a brave face. Tomorrow, Sunday, we will be together as a family and discuss what dat to send him to doggie heaven. It is so hard to even look into his eyes. We don't know what to do. We don't want him to ever go, but we don't want him suffering. My mom is taking it the hardest, he is her "baby boy". She loves him so much, plays with him, kisses him, even has him sleep next to her every night, and when he sleeps next to her, he makes sure his head is touching her leg to keep her close. We all have shed tears yesterday, and my mom yelled, saying "I WANT MY DOG! I DON'T WANT ANOTHER DOG! I WANT HIM! HE'S MINE!" and she had a break down. We don't know what to do. We want to make the right decision without him suffering.

Type of CancerLymphoma
MessageLily Dean was diagnosed almost 4 weeks ago. We found our baby girl in the middle of a busy hwy and fell in love instantly. She was maybe 6 weeks old, and riddled with fleas, ticks and full of worms. We immediatley took her to the vet and treated all of this and started her routine Dr visits. This was March of 2011. June 2012, now just barely over a year old is fighting Lymphoma. And she is a fighter! Please pray for our Lily Dean. She is our baby, and we are so in love with her and want her to become old and grey, only if she is not suffering.
Thank you for the prayers, with all the love in the world, from Lily Dean, her canine brother (BlackJack), feline brother and sister (Sebastian and Sabrina), Mama (Marion), Daddy (JJ), and Grandpa (John)!!

Type of Cancerhemangiosarcoma
MessageMy ten year old bassett hound, Herbie, has just been diagnosed with tumors - one attached to his spleen, and a secondary one attached to his liver. We have decided not to do surgery, but to give him the best love and care we can in the days he has left. Please pray for strength - for Herbie to fight this cancer as long as he can, and when he can no longer fight, to have a comfortable passing. Pray for strength for me to give him everything he needs and wants in the next days, and to know when it's time to say goodbye. Thank you.

MessagePlease pray for Spike! Spike came as a stray to our business 6 yrs in August. He weighed 25 lbs and now is 84 lbs. I have said that God dropped an angel down from a cloud in front of our business. I can't even explain Spike to you! We are in the Funeral Business. He is our official greeter and an angel to everyone. He is very vocal and healing to everyone he meets. We recently found out that he has lymphoma. We have had dogs and other animals before but we can't even explain Spike. My son and I agreed that his behavior was the closest of anyone we knew to Christ like behavior and love. I know that this is a real world and there is a season for everything. We truly would welcome your prayers for Spike for he is one of the greatest blessings we have ever had in our lives. God can change things! Thank-you! Bless you!
