MessageI just wanted to thank you for the honor of greeting the wonderful WWII veterans today, June 29, 2012, at Dulles Airport. What an honor just to be able to greet them! And they were wonderful; smiling, joking, tearing up (just like me). My parents were of "The Greatest Generation." I have such respect for that generation and with very good reason.

This was my first experience with Honor Flight. I plan to continue to play some small part in honoring these wonderful veterans.

Thank you again.

Where you from?Trinity Center, CA
Are you a Veteran?US Army, Vietnam 1966 through Jan.31, 1968
MessageI had no idea there was such an org. as "Honor Flights" until a friend recently sent me a YouTube video of an Honor Flight arriving at Ronald Regan airport. What a great video! I had tears streaming down my cheeks...

My dad Robert P. Milovich served with the 11th Airborne in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was with the first troopers of the 11th Abn. to fly in and land on the Japanese Homeland at Atsugi Air Base on Aug. 28th 1945 after the surrender. They were the first to set boots on the ground. We used to have a Life Magazine, the cover photo was of two 11th Airborne troopers hoisting the first American flag on the Japanese Mainland, they were my dad's buddy's, he was involved but didn't like the cameras so stepped out of the frame. He passed away several years ago.

My uncle Jack Milojevich served with the 517th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in Italy, France, and Belgium. He was Killed in action and posthumously awarded the Silver Star.

When I was growing up I met many WW-ll vets and they were my hero's and still are!

Thank you so much for helping to see their long deserved Memorial... I will be donating to this great cause.

Someday I hope to see the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial and visit my brother and friends...

Steve
