| Message | You know, I started with Werner in January '08. Everything that I see on this forum is about accurate. $300 a week is a joke, after taxes and other deductions, 180.00 a week. That pretty much figures to about $4.00 an hour in a 70 hour week. I just couldn't see myself driving for less than minimum wage. I make more being on unemployment then driving. I did have an awesome trainer and I highly respect him, but he clued me in on what Werner(Anti-Christ) Enterprises does to their drivers. They force dispatch you farther away from home when your trying to get home. And if you refuse you get the talk from the terminal gastopo. I had a family emergency and needed to get home and could've left in PA, but talked me into driving to Texas, supposely closer, to get home to Florida. Thirty-six hours later, I made it home off from the devil's express(greyhound). I went on a LOA, to think out what I wanted to do and never returned. Now with the knowledge I have , I tell people to methodically think out your career in truck driving and not to listen what recruiters say. |
