MessageI worked for Werner last July and August, driving coast to coast, border to border. The first guy I was teamed with only took 1 shower every two weeks. This is the hot part of summer, remember. He refused to turn on the air conditioner and would not open the windows.Obviously,I had to ask for another partner. The next guy I was teamed with was ok at first, but them he turned out to be the biggest racist I have ever seen. This guy hated everyone.Subsequently I decided to leave Werner and drive local at home. When I got laid off this spring,I found that noone would hire me.After several tries I decided to get a copy of my DAC.You can do that once a year for free at the USIS website.I was shocked to find that Werner had put an adverse incident statement on there that said I had wrecked the truck and had caused "personal injury or death".I am now in the middle of disputing that,to put it mildly.I have sent the formal dispute back to USIS and retained an attorney and wrote numerous letters to my Senator and Congressman.I find it appalling that this can be done without any verification or proof.I have all my logs and documentation.Trust me,save everything! We'll see how it turns out,but I'm sure it will be a long and costly battle.I demand satisfaction in every possible way.Whatever you do,DO NOT work for WERNER Ent.!These people will screw you just because they can.Fortunately,I have many friends and can still drive local.Be afraid.Be VERY afraid!

MessageI was trained with Werner, and I can tell you from first hand experience, you better be able to learn what you need while with your trainer. Get one who will take pride in his/her job and ask questions. Oh yes, need I say that if the trainer has personal problems with wife, calling other trainers he/she trained yep look out.
I thought I was blessed to have such a wonderful trainer, letting me drive all the hours, and him staying in the bunk. I thought I was blessed when he encouraged me to keep on trying when I wanted to throw in the towel. Then the ole problems started kicking in, problem with wife, problem with jeckyl/hide personality, and being asked to do things which wasn't part of the training. Needless to say, told a friend about it, and it was reported. Guess what? Trainer didn't get the shaft, I did. He didn't get in trouble at all. I got in trouble and never even intended to report all the bull crap which went with the job. Who sits being hurt out of all of this? Me, see, I knew when I took the job, it was a man's world, but I didn't know that my friend would turn around and report the incident. Werner had a lady interview me, and yes, I was to keep my mouth shut and let it go. Funny, I paid for my training, earned my 300 dollars per wk, and had it in my stupid head, my trainer was doing me a favor by letting me drive all the time. I earned him big fat paycheck and have nothing to show. I have nothing good to say

I'm new to Werner Enterprises but definitely disappointed. The total for my last 2 paychecks was under $5.00. Now I'm going from pay advance to advance each week. Low miles are the killer here. And at .26 cents/mile which is a lot lower than advertised on their website @ $.352 cents/mile average. Is this the norm? Or do I need to look for other pastures?

MessageWorked for Werner for many years (not as a driver, but in office support) and got fed up with the stress, BS and lies. Place is a like a Russian prison camp. Our "yearly" reviews are 2-4 months late, workers are getting so disgusted that some are leaving without giving a two-week notice (there one day, empty desk the next). Management is either oblivious or doesn't care. Departments are getting downsized as corporate propaganda tells of quarterly profits (barf).

My former supervisor works two jobs (so much for those "well-paid" Werner management salaries) and has transformed into a tert, snippy poodle. I knew this person for many years and the tranformation was disgusting. I got so fed up that I marched into HR and gave notice. HR has a policy of not giving references, but considering who I worked for, that's not a big loss.

MessageHello all, I left Werner back in august after 8 years as an owner-op trainer. I liked some parts of the job there, before the kids took over for the old man. Yes, there was a lot to be desired, but I had goals in mind, like paying for my truck and getting out of that contract. I had some students graduate and do fine with all the miles they wanted, and others sitting. All the fancy terminals meant less money for you. I saw first hand the part on money per mile difference. My students said exactly the same thing, I was told I would get 36 cents a mile. It's a production company, they undercut the better paying companies so they can get a contract. I know, our outfit has lost freight to Werner. The V.A.S., or value added services undercuts the top companies like mine...Land star.

Messageive worked for werner twice, in the past 5 years each time for a year +, worked for another company hauling for a home depot dedicated route, werner is not as bad as a lot of you people make it sound, there are ups and downs with every company i find werner to be right for me, its right for some and not for others, ive always got home when i needed to, and i would never train for werner again just due to the fact some people you cant train and are complete retards like the last mexican trainee i had. imo

MessageFinally they made me quit with last 4 weeks paychecks never exceeding 350. I don't know what would i expect since i've stopped training for the winter(i won't risk my life and others for this or any kind of money).
The only main reason was to get my needed experience so i can move foward(like probably 99% of werner drivers).
Werner suck big time.
To future students/drivers please consider other companies before going to werner(england, stevens are better, not the best).
I was a trainer and i know how tuff is for students to take this transition to this mess.
From 16 students i've had just 1 still works for werner and he was lucky with the sears dedicated account from texas, others wasn't so.

All my best to the other werner drivers because they have it so hard.
May God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
