Message My maternal grandparents Earl & Ruth Lange were both born in Oslo, Norway and immigrated to the USA in 1913. They first went to Rudby, Pierce County, North Dakota and were married on May 27, 1915. They then moved to Grand Rapids, Itasca County, Minnesota, where they had 5 children, Edith, Ruth, Paul, Bud and Dorothy.

Earl Lange was born February 20, 1896 and was christened in Uranienborg Church May 3, 1986 by Reverend Arnesen. He is the son of Albert J. Lange, who was in charge of the Eidsvolds Building in Oslo, Norway, a museum which had been used for meetings of congress in the 1800's. Earl left Norway on July 1, 1913 on the Kristianiafjord and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on July 16, 1913.

Ruth Finnerud was born in Christiania October 9, 1900. She is the daughter of Hans Kristian Finnerud and Karen Marie Hansen. Ruth went to America on February 21, 1913 on the Hellig Olav and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on March 5, 1913.

Earl Lange died on March 23, 1976 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Ruth died on February 18, 1980 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
