MessagePART 3/3
The team leading this project are experienced in creating stories sensitively, working with people globally through disaster relief projects and working directly with young people here in the UK living with HIV.

I would love to start a conversation with you in hope that we can find a way to work in partnership to create a powerful global platform of stories of resilience, strength and hope.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Kindest regards,

Kara Winney

MessagePART 2/3
We want to tell the stories of young people living in other cultures and countries to show the breadth of experiences young people are living with and at the same time the commonalities of being a young person living with HIV.

We want to work with you to tell the stories through film, photography, animation and audio of young people you work with aged 16-30 who are living with HIV. The ambition is to create a digital platform of stories of young people around the globe living with HIV. In a time when there is so much disconnection and the world feels separated by difference, Life in my shoes International will create meaningful connection, build empathy and give a voice to an often forgotten population.

We hope the creation of stories will not only be an opportunity to build this platform, but will be a resource for you to use as you wish ; on your website, fundraising ,outreach and to engage other young people living with the virus.

MessagePART 1/3 MESSAGE
We would love to work with you and the young people aged between 16-30 that are living with HIV.

I am writing to you from Body & Soul, an award winning charity transforming the profound impact of childhood adversity. For the last 21 years we have been delivering a unique programme of support dedicated to children, young people and families living with and affected by HIV.

In 2011 we launched ‘Life in my shoes’, an ambitious campaign inspired by our members experiences of the impact of stigma on their lives. We wanted to create a campaign that was a catalyst for change, that would challenge the stigma and ignorance that surrounded HIV and that would be part of bringing greater empathy to the world. Life in my shoes shines a spotlight on young people’s stories of resilience and disrupts the perceptions that many people hold strong. Through film, online presence, exhibitions, media and schools outreach we have reached over a million people.

Throughout this journey, the central mechanism for change has come through story telling. And it is with this in mind that I am contacting you and your organisation. The young people at Body & Soul have roots from all around the world, but their experiences are of young people navigating the journey of HIV here in the UK.
