| Message | I moved to Bellingham 3 years ago and grew up in Alaska. On my first day in this lovely town I was accepted and met amazing people, and it continues to get better. The first woman I talked with (a manager of a restaurant) even offered me a place to stay for the evening. I immediately was offered a good job and have gone through others before I found a reliable and profitably second job (I do this not out of necessity, but ambition). I know many people who have been and are successful in this town. Granted, not everyone is, but that goes for everywhere in the world. Some recent drawbacks are lack of a good music scene and closing businesses, but there is a great performance art community here, which I love. If it's not a good fit for you, try harder to move somewhere else! Apply for jobs all over the place. Life's not easy, but sometimes you just have to go for it and it works. Trial and error eventually has always proved to be successful for me. Moving here was not easy in some senses, but I don't think it would be different anywhere else unless if I stayed in AK. Granted, if I stayed there I wouldn't be surrounded by as many people that share similar interests with me. As for the dating scene, there are beautiful and intelligent women here. As a women, I'm not attracted to depressed men on the prowl. Reno's dating scene isn't even comparable, it's a completely different kind of place. I hope that you have found, or soon find, happiness. Sincerely, Aireekah |
