Messagei was lucky enough to experience Sahb many years ago in the early seventies , and i was blown away. When talking gigs with pals over a lukewarm horlicks, i always ALWAYS cite the last tour i ever saw Alex play on , before SAHB without Alex , as the most powerful rock experience i have ever , and shall ever have .A mate and myself waited for hours outside the Southampton Gaumont theater for the band to sign autographs for us.First i managed to get Pat Travers the support act , and jesus was he f*****g loud .Then Hugh and Ted came out and signed for us, this must have been about 11.30,we asked when Alex was coming out and they said not for a while, so we waited and waited. Eventually Hugh and Ted felt sorry for us young striplings and took us onboard the tour bus for a hot brew, and a very frank and interesting conversation. Eventually the rest of the band came out , we gathered Zals' and chris's autographs , and finally the Holy Grail, Alex signed the back of my ticket "Vambo Roolz Alex Harvey". A night i will never forget, and a set of autographs i have treasured to this day. I could wax lyrical for many pages on that nights fantastic performance, but theres not enough space for me to do so. Guys just keep doing what you do, for as long as i have breath inside of me you will always have at least one truly dedicated fan . Come back to "the Brook" Southampton soon, we all miss you , VAMBO ROOLZ , KIERON GILES....... smilie

MessageI was a massive an of the band, what a show they used to put on, Alex was the most under-rated songwriter of his time.Isaw him just days before he died, rolling out his new band at the Shoulder of Mutton in Hardstoft,Derbyshire, truly amazing show with all the old stuff.

MessageThe first and only time I saw the band was on t.v. in 1974. Vambo hooked me, what a different
type of band. I loved it. Alex was great!
I have never heard thier songs played on a radio.
I did buy two albums and I still have them.

MessageHi Guys,

Sorry to hear about recent " set back " at Liquid Rooms, I hope you get back on top of things very soon.

Can I add one piece of well-meant and sincere advice, please, please, please stay as far away from Davie Simpson as possible. It may seem inappropriate but he is a horrible, pathalogical conman with no disregard for other human beings - and without a shred of honesty in his bones. I was sad and shocked to see him featuring you on his ' blade management myspace ' . He owes most of Dunfermline money and has caused much suffering and pain to many - and that is only the very tip of the iceberg.

You guys keep producing great music and entertainment and please stay well clear of this dispicable human being.

All the best for 2009

Pete

Messagesmilie Just came across a SAHB album in my (too big ) cd collection at the weekend. Played 5 or six album in a row from Next to Penthouse to Framed to Tomorrow to Live. Had tears in my eyes at times. Swa SAHB as just a boy at the Apollo in Glasgow in '75. Prize remembrance is the arses of the dancers for cheek to cheek!! My what a star Alex was, a showman ahead of his time, just like nobody can do Queen like Freddie, Alex made all those songs his own, Vambo Rools,
