MessageFound your site by accident. I live in Bristol but I was born and brought up in Buxton,North Derbyshire,in 1936. My father was Arthur and his father Herbert. If I can help anyone with what little information I have got, would be willing. We should have a clan gathering! I firmly believe the name is French though I would be happier if it wasn't. The Norman influence following the invasion was very strong in Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire.

MessageThis is a message for Kristen Orgill Gerrick. Kristen, could you please contact me at [email protected]. I am researching the Burkhardt and Voltz (Volt) families, and believe we are related. I have information on your grandmother Bella's family, and would like to share and compare notes.

Messagesmilie Hey Joe
I am from Cape Town South Africa. I believe that my great grand father came from Britain. My dad who is 79 years old was very young when his father passed on and we do not speak much about the family or where they have originated from. My grandfather was a fisherman or so I have been told. I am 52years old and have 2 daughters Tayla 16 and Jade 27. I myself have 7 brothers and 2 sisters, a rather large family. It is quite interesting to see that the Orgill name is scattered through America and Canada. If you want to communicate feel free to e-mail me. Regards and thanks once again. Claude

MessageI just read about the carriage maker in Africa. I know from my mother that my great grandfather was traveling to Africa for work. Orgill is a very unusual name and there are only a few Orgill's in the Cleveland area. I have a feeling that I just might be related to the Orgill's in Staffordshire. It is a familiar name in the story that my mother told me. I am going to speak with her asap regarding this. I will write with the location that my great grandparents originally came from in England. And if my great grandfather was traveling to Africa indeed. I think that their's is a wonderful love story!

Thank you, Kristen Orgill

MessageMy Father's name is Paul S. Orgill he was born in 1916 in Pennsylvania. I am his first born and I am 42. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 81. His fathers name was Leo Orgill. His mothers name was Bella Volt. When his father passed away, his mother married a man whose last name was Spencer so my father made Spencer his middle name. I know that when he was alive he contacted a Thomas Orgill who lived in Texas I believe. I have 2 brothers named Paul Michael Orgill and John Leo Orgill. I know that my great grandparents came over from England in the 1800's It was my great grandfather who came first and then my great grandmother went looking for her husband with 5 of her children on board a ship. All of the children died of Typhod fever. When she was traveling by ship after her husband he was traveling by ship back to England to find her. They literally were 2 ships that passed in the night. They did however find each other eventually and began a new family. That is all I know right now of my fathers family. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and still live in this area. I am very interested to learn more but am limited for financial reasons. I will however hopefully be able to pursue my family genealogy in the future! Thank you for this website!
