MessageThis is not per se a word submission but a question on usage.
Years ago I first noticed the use, in road cycling contexts, of what I would call redundant constructions. I don't know if RC would be the proper term for this.
An example would be something such as, "Wow I crashed hard. My front rim got pretzeled. I have to change it out."
This instead of, " I have to change it."
I am hearing this usage everywhere now.
We have to swap it out.
He had to change it out.
Etc.
When did this annoying usage start?

Best,
Tim
