| Message | Dear Edna Thank you so much for your kind words. It is very humbling to know that I am inspiring you in preparation for your swim in 2008. I am muddling through collecting information from as many sources as possible, putting it into practice and putting it onto this web site for others seeking the same. The best advice I have received so far is that you must get in the sea and get used to the cold water, not just train in a swimming pool. Most people fail because of the cold, not the distance. I swum 2 miles in the sea at 8 Degrees Centigrade for 50 minutes last weekend and suffered mild hypothermia. That was an interesting experience! You have been an inspiration to us who have been dreaming of such a task for a long time. I t is a great cause. My two mottos I have taken in life, after completing 7 NY marathons 2 dublin MARATHONS 1 london and 1 Sandiego (ALL FOR KIDS);if things start to go a little wrong for you as they did me in these events.
