| Message | This one's big... after some recent banter confusion by eklund tossing names out with no regard for accuracy, it turns out that there was some truth in the rumours. It appears however that Eklund was merely scratching the surface of this deal. Last night I spoke directly with GM Philly about the rumours and he gave me three words: "This one's big..." Unlike Eklund, I won't make up names or facts, but it appears Gaborik is included in the deal as he sold his house in Terrorville and is moving to the warmer more friendly climate of Philicity. There is some buzz growing that Tavares may be a piece of this deal. The Phillies entered the summer with a "Got Tavares" sticker campaign and have clearly placed the future of the franchise on his shoulders, so I'll chalk this up to Eklund lies, Tavares is not involved. I spoke with Bob McKenzie who is confused by the news of Gaborik to the Phillies because he clearly just does not fit. McKenzie had this to say: "There's a lot of buzz around the Philly and Terror organizations, both camps have been shaken up, but I just can't see how Gaborik is involved in this deal, the Phillies youth movement has been so consistent and all about character, to throw a fragile 27 year old into their mix is curious.... something is missing here" Pierre McGuire had this to say: "Boom! Monster! Whamo!"... The Phillies organization has called a press conference at 5 pm eastern time. |
