| Message | Well I guess we should just take the chance that someone without a goalie wins it all then so Rob can keep Brodeur in. |

| Message | Re: Olympic pool. Sorry guys, my bad with the goalie thing on the oly roster. I just quickly fired off that response before I looked at what we did in the past. We actually have had this debate before (as I looked back in the o'l archives) - we actually only had a manditory line up of 3 forwards, 1 d and 2 wild card positions. Only one of the wild cards could be a goalie however. A couple of things to note before anyone complains too much (more). In 2002 = Shane won without a goalie. LeClair = 7 pts, Hull = 8 pts, Lemieux = 6 pts, Ohlund = 2 pts, Amonte = 0 pts. TOTAL = 27 pts. In 2006, Blazers won, but check out these stats. Goalie - Broduer= 4 pts! What did it for the Blazers was that all their Euros went wild - S. Koivu = 11 pts, Sundin 8, Straka 8, Iggy only 3 and Schnieder 3. Of the 7 teams 4 picked keepers. So, just because teams have keepers doesn't mean they'll win. Secondly, just because some teams don't have keepers (because of poor play this year) doesn't mean other teams should not be allowed to ice some of their best assets. |

| Message | a good compromise is to keep goalies in but make wins and shutouts worth zero points.. |

| Message | While I agree with Goon I have less of a problem going with 2 D than I do with a goalie. In a short tournament with such huge advantages (Canada vs Norway and Russia vs Latvia) the edge for 1 good goalie is too good. Add to that the fact that there are 3 maybe 4 goalies who get quality minutes with an actual shot to win and it turns into a crapshoot to who will win. The points a goalie receives are more a result of his stacked team than his own play (Tommi Salo excluded). I don't really care too much, but it's something to talk about in the boring part of the season. Ron MacLean is a cock for goin after Burrows like that. Yes Burrows is an agitator that pushes lines (less now than in the past), but that attack was garbage. Goon go find him and make him turtle. |

| Message | Rob tried to slide this olympic roster thing through nice and quietly knowing that he has excellent goaltending... Scratch out the goalies and lets look at other roster options. 3 forwards and 1 dman provides the most equal chance for every GM. If you stretch the d to 2, you get into some teams having a pretty weak dman on their roster. The olympics are best on best, and this version of the FHL olympic pool should feature our best on best as well. |

| Message | Scratch that, I have Tim Thomas and he is an Olympian (back-up, mind you). Still, I say "let them play!" |
