| Message | No GM Duke, this year's was a much deeper protection list to help facilitate parity more quickly. To keep parity in the long term we will need to look at a yearly protection list of 20 players max. We did communicate this when we were establishing our hybrid re-draft, expansion draft/protection list process this fall (in fact I think you even asked a specific question about it and its implementation). |

| Message | I am fine with a 20 player protection list. The 20 players should probably exclude players on prospect list. Maybe in order to keep the interest up in finding young players who may be good in the future we add another round in the prospect draft? |

| Message | Fellow GMs - is it time we talk about our re-draft/protection list format? Certain GMs have been inquiring, as this decision will impact future trades. We have talked about a potential 20 player protection list. Will this be enough? I would assume that that number is the highest number we will be protecting. Thoughts? |

| Message | Genius = picking NHL leading scorer Rick Nash in the 9th round. Futility = leaving him on the farm. |

| Message | We should take a picture of the Terror in 5th place. Won't last long. Say good-bye to Connor McDavid Duke! I'll trade you a 3rd rounder for Crosby and that will cement your fall |
