MessageJust to let everybody know in case of people asking questions,Bradley has broken his fibula, which he did 6 weeks or so ago,and he did not realise he had done it,he did the first few pre-season training sessions and because he was still getting pain in the leg he spoke to Bob,who suggested he went and got an x.ray,so on Friday he went to Epsom, and had his x ray and there was a clean break on hid fibula, which was already starting to mend, however they wanted to see him in the fracture clinic today,so we took him down and the doctor has told him to stop playing non contact sport for between 3 and 6 months, now I am not a doctor, and having been on the website of Leatherhead where Tommy Hutchings has apparantly done the same thing, and they are suggesting about 6 weeks,we are not happy with what the doctor at Epsom has said, and Bradley will be seeing Bob in the next couple of days, and I am going to take him to East Surrey for a second opinion, its not doubting the fact its broken, its the diagnosis that he has been told, and bearing in mind the fibula is a balancing bone, and its the tibia that takes just about all of the body,s weight,we are a bit miffed with what the doctor said at Epsom, and what Bob has said to Bradley.Anyway we will know a bit more once we have been to East Surrey, which we will probably do tomorrow but for the time being he wont be playing any matches, and we willre-asess the situation over the next week or so. smilie

MessageAnother big thank you to those who helped on Sunday. They laid two ton on soil on the pitch as well as heaving large rolls of astro turf into place. Well done. We have now cut and prepared the final 4 rolls of astro and this will be at Moatside on Weds. I hope some of you can be at the ground from 6pm on Thurs 7th July to give a helping hand in getting these last roll into place.
It will only take a couple of hours.
Thanks. Martin

MessageHi chappies,

To those who do not know me I am known as the bird behind the bar...

I like to give my "personal" views on the games in the season but more importantly the players... Well I am an old bird and it does make my Tuesday night and Saturdays all the more pleasant...

To any players may they be the 1st team, girls or youth teams... Please come and say hello... I don't bite (peck yes) but it is lovely to put a face to a name or number...

To the managers, I never say no to a drink and have been known to buy the odd one or two... Well there are 9 months of the season (football that is).

Look out for my comments as there will be plenty... BIRD IS BACK !!!

Till next time
smilie

MessageFurther congratulations to the U18 Girls who won the Woodley Hammers tournament last weekend.A completely differnt six players completed a tournament 'double' rising to the challenge of their team mates who came home with the spoils 3 weeks ago at Whiteknights.

Another long trip out to Reading(again)was well worth it as Sally Stone,Jazzi Curtis, Laura Mott,Jess Chandler,Steph Mann and Sarah-Killick Bird powered their way through the competition without losing a game and conceeding only one goal.

A great end to our season...well done to all the girls...looking forward to building on this for next season.
