MessageMy high school choirs are rich in female voices but much in need of more male voices and ALL singers arrive with little to no choral experiences. I would greatly appreciate a complimentary packet of music. I wish your mission would be embraced more widely by the larger choral infrastructure! So few artists are writing for the "greatly becoming the norm" female heavy ensembles. THANK YOU for what you do and the great articles and information that you provide.

MessageI teach high school boys, ages 14 - 18 (9th - 12th grade). I have every kind of voice: established baritone/basses, changing baritones, light tenors, a few established tenors, non-pitch-matchers - the whole gamut. Anything you could send me would be helpful. Thanks so much!

MessageI am a middle school teacher working with around 200 students. My classes are actually predominantly male this year. In addition to SAB(C) pieces, I would like to do some gender specific pieces. I have done this successfully in the past, but my library is running short!

MessageI am the music teacher at Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, MA. This is an all-boys, Catholic school for grades 7-12. This will be my second year teaching (I just survived my first year). This year, I am trying to get our 7th and 8th graders involved in the choral program. Being still a young and new teacher, I am trying to figure out the best way to work them in. Because of the way our current schedule is structured, I meet with my high school chorus at 7:30am (before the school day starts) 5 days a week. It is impossible right now to get chorus for 9-12 or 7-8 during the day. So, for now, since this is our first year adding 7-8, I am having them join the high schoolers 2 mornings a week for rehearsal and hoping I can pull them out sometime during the day for just 7-8 instruction. I am not sure this is ideal, but it is a start for now. I hope to program music just for the high schoolers, just for the junior high, and then music for both groups combined. I think it is important that eventually we have a 7-8 chorus and a 9-12 chorus. Am I wrong for wanting this or would it be better to just have a 7-12 chorus? I guess I am looking for ideas and music. I want our students to sing in a healthy, natural way, and am trying to encourage this. One of my greatest fears as a teacher is doing something that could hurt their voices. I am looking for more information on how to guide our young men through this so as to keep them singing and involved in high school too!
