MessageI have finally gotten my administration behind the idea of adding a Boy's select choir to my list of classes, and now am realizing the struggle in giving them quality music.

I have:

1 Select 8th Grade Mixed Chorus
1 Open 7th and 8th Grade Mixed Chorus
1 Select 7th Grade Girls Chorus
1 Select 7th Grade Boys Chorus

My boys do feel comfortable singing in a still higher head voice, and for some reason, our schools students put no stigma on this. The boy that is probably called my best singer in the school by his peers is almost totally still in a normal Alto range.

There's not a lot of material I've seen that is built for boys to sing, and still lets them stay in the higher ranges.

Please help me. Thanks.

MessageI would like to submit an arrangement to you. The arrangement I have on hand is my own setting of a poem by Baudelaire. It is simple and melodious and falls in the three ranges and tessituras for your unchanged-changing-changed arrangements.

I would also like to talk about creating arrangements of a few old public-domain cowboy songs, something that I think seventh- to ninth-graders would enjoy. I have been music-directing and doing vocal arranging for many years, and I understand the problems of working with different ranges.

Please let me hear from you by email or by mail or telephone. Thank you for your attention to this.

MessageI am a middle school choir teacher and am always
looking for more voice appropriate music to help me understand the needs of middle school voice and to use as singing material in class. Do you have a publisher's club that can be joined to receive copies of your music for preview? Do you
send out packets on a regular basis for preview.
Thanks!

Kay Beauchamp
