| Message | Ms Crowe, About 10 years ago I stumbled upon a struggling young singer from Canada at the Dakota Lounge in St. Paul, Minnesota named Diana Krall with a voice and style not heard since Ella Fitzgerald. Yesterday I was randomly checking the news and features on the Chicago Tribune web site and stumbled upon a link to another young singer named Allison Crowe apparently from the same town in Canada with the voice of an angel. Just what do you have in the water up there?
The Tribune link brought me to your rendition of “Hallelujah" that is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. I quickly found your web site and started sampling your other songs from the Tidings album and began downloading them all for my MP3 player. (I also immediately ordered the CD from your site to assure that you get properly compensated. Frankly I do not understand the business model of giving the music away for free, but hope it is working for you and the other “indies.” Personally I would be happy to just pay for the downloads and avoid the hardware.)
I look forward to listening to your other recordings and will continue to check for new releases. I also hope that you can plan a US tour soon that can include Chicago or LA in the near future. I wish you the best of luck and success and thank you for sharing your unique talent and voice with us mere mortals. |
