Message Hey Serena..

Yours is such a cool site.. there is so much to read and learn from your experiences...!! I am originally from India but currently living in the US with husband dear and son who is 21 months old..

You have the same ideologies as mine, but because of my conservative upbringing, i may not be able to explore the way you are onto your world tour.. but courtesy my husband and an understanding boss at work, i have been able to visit 5 countries, including the US!! I will be reading lot more of your website and this time, but given your encouragement, i am determined to explore India(my native country) with much more vigour...

Rachana(It means Poetry)
Also i wanted this website all my life...25 years http://www.world66.com.. finally something which will cater to my needs..

Message hi serena ,i dont realy know how i came across your web site,i had been looking for outher things.but im so glad i did..what fantastic photos, and the storys to go with them to. thank you very much.some people are not as brave or able to explore the places you have seen.but the way you have portrayed them on your web travels page is the next best thing to being there. .it would be great to see u on tv with your own travel show!!!!!! you tell it like you see it ,no bullshit, and in your unique way.

Message Excelent pics of the change of guard. Especially the titles are so funny. I am planning to go to amritsar this summer 28 of August to be exact. I would be reaching around 5pm and back next day around the same time. Do you think i have enough time to see the golden temple and Wagha Border.
Any suggestions and recomendations??

Message Hello Serena,

I'm travelling India and stumbled across your site while looking for information on Pattadakal. I had to stop to admire your pictures.

I have little knowledge of photography but lots of enthusiasm and your galleries have inspired me further.

Best wishes
Roger

Message Hi Serena,

Tonight I was watching a show on history of Rome, then went to web to look up more about the Colosseum, then to travel site with a top 100, then found Bagan, then found your site. You described exactly what I would love to do, bicycling around and looking in all the temples. The pictures were gorgeous, and your stories wonderful. Can you publish a photoessay for travel money? It's as wonderful, interesting and informative as anything I've seen at the bookstores here. Or are you loving the postie gig?

I am 39, had a "corporate" life + depression, then went back to school, got more education to work in nonprofits/research, social policy stuff, love to continue to learn. Looking for job now. Always wanted to travel, but definitely not as brave and tough as you. I did go to Eire by myself in 2000, stayed in Dublin and hiked in the mountains, drove to a few castles and danced at a few ceilis, it was great.

Enjoyed your wonderful site!

Lara

Message Great website Serena! I feel I can travel vicariously through you by reading your tales. What is your opinion on the ethics of travelling in Myanmar? Aren't you just handing $US straight into the hands of the dictatorial military government?

Message Thanks for your comments, Kate. Regarding Myanmar: there is some money that must go to the government, such as the visa to enter the country and entrance fees to national monuments (although you can with a clear conscience, try to dodge these!); however with a bit of care, you can ensure that the rest of your money goes to the people. By avoiding government-run guesthouses and travel agents, and travelling by pick-up or bus, most of your money will end up in the hands of the Myanmar people. The urgings of Aung San Suu Kyi to boycott the country are not universally held; many think that it will be harder for the country to develop in isolation, and that boycotting the country punishes the people, rather than the military junta. The decision to visit should not be made lightly, and should be made after researching the pros and cons of the matter.
