| Message | My relative was Robert Skelly, Sr. who was born in 1802 in County Down, Ireland. He came to America in 1848 with his family. The origins of this group of Skelly's was Scotland where to Skellee is to squint. Being what that may meen I am not sure. My family came to the area on lake Erie in Pennsylvania. They traveled over on the ship with a family named Warren. I have not had any luck with who Robert's father was but have ran into many Skelly's in the irish past. You have a interesting site. | Message | My grandfather was George Skelly of New Haven, Conn. I know so very little about him except that he played and love American baseball and committed suicide in 1949 (New Haven).
