MessageI am so glad I found this website. I have just been assigned to pastor a congregation of the Episcopal Church that has several Burmese families attending regularly. I would like to learn the sounds of the language, so that I can attune my ear to what they are communicating, to learn some key phrases and to be able to say the Lord's Prayer, the Absolution, and the Blessing in the language that is understood by the people I serve. MessageI am an English Second Language teacher and this website has helped me greatly to engage a student with VERY limited English. He was unresponsive until I played some of the commands, such as "stand up" and "sit Down" and he immediately complied. I am so grateful for this site as it opens an opportunity to engage with my students! I love the opportunity for him to share words with me because of the command: "Say this in Karen" and I try! THANK YOU SO MUCH for making communication possible!

MessageI am an English Literacy Tutor in Minnesota. Many of my students are K-3 English Language Learners. I figured if I am going to make them learn English, then I should try learning some of their native language as well. Thank you for this website!
