Message	To Kris: Youre response about Phoenix compared to Niagara Falls is pretty typical because nobody outside of the city has any clue about what REALLY happens here. You are comparing a city of a million and a half to a city of 50,000. As far as statistics are concerned we have a higher crime rate than Pheonix does. Just because we dont have a homicide every day doesnt mean that they dont occur and that is a nice place to live in. Not only that but if something happens here, none of our local news agencies report the story. I had 3 people shot at my job on New Years day and nobody knew about it. I have had a friend shot and never knew about it because the media didnt report it. I have had people on my front porch armed with guns, I have had to stop neighbors from shooting people. The crime has gotten to a point where the police need to fly overhead in a police helicopter with a giant spotlight to look for people doing things like breaking into houses, shooting at people, and things like that. And the helicopter flies in a patrol route over the city, and goes in giant circles very close to the ground with a very bright light. I have sat next to actual killers in high school and have had teachers that have had to bear witness at homicide trials involving students. Please, if you don't know what a city is like then don't make any comments on it, because you really dont know what you are talking about.

Message	I was born and raised in Niagara Falls and can not believe how bad its become. I left Niagara in '96 for the Air Force and every time I come back it is more and more depressing. This web site is awesome! The picks of all the old and new is a true eye opener! Especially the ones of the old Rainbow mall. I use to go to that mall all the time. Went to Niagara Falls High School---gone, Niagara Street School---gone, 2 years LaSalle---gone. To the guy who says he is sick of people talking crap of NF wake up it has turned to shit. Everyone is leaving and it looks like a war zone!! They are trying though--brand new high school Go wolverines! Pine ave trying to resurrect.

Message	How pathetic Niagara Falls has become over the past 20 years. I am embarassed to tell people in California that I grew up here. The local government officials should take a long hard look at themselves, and then jump over The Falls. This city will never be what it once was in the 70's and 80's. Looks like a building demolishers dream. I feel bad for the people who are still there.

Message	I am so sick and fu##ing tired of people saying that Niagara Falls sucks and is full of scum ! Especially the born and raised locals . Has anyone that lives in the Falls that talks like this been out of there lately? Come to my hometown of Phoenix , where just last week , an individual killed 5 people in one afternoon ,three of them children , cause he was having a "bad day" More people killed in my neighbourhood in one day than in the whole city of NF in a year ! A lot of NY'ers are planning on, or are already on the way here. C'mon down. I'll sell you my house , have change left over and buy plenty of toys. Like a Snowmobile ,Boat , and a Dog. Oh , and you're previous residence paid in full.!! Propery tax high ? So what! No motrgage ! I can't wait until more New Yorkers and hundreds of thousands of others turn this into the largest housing price increase ever , so I can get out of here !!

Myself..I have lived here longer than I would like. and whether it is my choice to stay or not..I don't give excuses.. ..Yes its sad..but I am so tired of hearing it..and to see a site with all of this..Give us break will ya.....Some of you miss this place.!!!!!!..Don't bother replying..I won't be back..

Message	TG you and some others have done an OUTSTANDING job bringing attention to the blight! Thanks for caring! I lived in Niagara County for 20 years, but had to leave it behind 11 years ago. There were few options. Anyway, we still visit 2X a year, miss the people,the food,the summers etc. THINGS JUST HAVE TO GET BETTER

Message	I grew up in The Falls and I have to say things have gone downhill since I left 15+ years ago. The city government should be ashamed of thier pathetic attempt at running the city. It reminds me of Camden N.J. A real DUMP! A city with so much potential for tourism should not be in the hands of fools who are only interested in lining their own pockets. It's just a shame!

Message	What a heartbreaking site to view. I think the owners of the new casino and hotel should take one day of their profits for each month of the year and use the money to start to rehabilitate the blighted areas of what once was a decent, affordable place to live. We do not need another Atlantic City with delapitated housing surrounding the flashy casinos and hotels along the boardwalk. Well so much for urban renewel which appears to have destroyed instead of rebuilt Niagara Falls.
