| Message | I have been in Maoming for 2 and a half years now. I came across your site long ago when I was looking for information about actually taking the test. I have since learned that it dosn't matter. I could share all sorts of stories. But I will limit myself to just one. I have been riding a scooter for more than a year now. I was worried about being stopped (HA!) Well one day while they were set up at a corner, stopping people for no helmets and tags. My day had come. I bought a helmet with a mirrored visor so they couldn't see my face. Hey I'm a white guy (one of only 3 perm residents in this city) on a scooter without a driver's. The policeman stopped me and starts blabbering in Chinese. I did nothing (still trying to figure out how to handle it)I knew what he was saying even though I understand very little. He repeated it 3 times (he wnated my driver's) After the 3rd, I raised my visor so he could see my face and I spoke just two words. "In English?" He had such a surprised and what do I do now look on his face. He just waved me on and said "Go away" in Chinese. |
