MessageI'm so pleased to find this! I lived in Bury St. Edmunds for 6 years and then had to move to the US due to my father being US military. It's so amazing to see its changes through your blog. I only hope I can move back there one day!

MessageHello..Just to say, keep up the good work smilie Being born and bred in BSE and 2 yrs ago moving to Las Vegas, I find it comforting to check up on things every now and then. Many a night upon station hill or around the town center(or simply guy fawkes in the abbey!) but friends and family are still there and visit me often, so I guess it's the sights I miss most having taken them for granted whilst there daily :-(

MessageRudy,

Was a little home sick for the place my family an I had 3 wonderful years ago living in Bury St. Edmunds. I was stationed at RAF Mildenhall with the USAF from 2000-2003. We lived at #10 Bronyon Close. Hey, if anyone gets a chance could you swing by the house and speak to our neighbors and ask if they still remember the Doyle's. Especially the older gentleman named "Pete". Please pass on my e-mail address if you can. I would really appreciate it.

Anyway, great web site, keep it up.

Shawn

MessageHi Ruby, just discovered your blog when looking for info on Bury St Edmonds.
I exist because my GG Grandfather was convicted of selling stolen goods in 1833 and tranported to New South Wales. He was born in Bury St Edmonds in 1809.
I have found your photos very interesting, hope to see more- especially of places that may not have changed a lot in the last 200 years. We were in UK in 2005, but we only had half a day in Bury St Edmonds.

MessageMy Great Grandfather came from Bury St. Edmunds, he was sent to Western Australia (I live in WA)in 1866 as a convict and I decend from him.
I haven't been able to track down his parents and more details on ancestors as the certificates I have are conflicting information and I can't find anything on births, deaths or marriages. Its very frustrating. Your site is fantastic by the way.

Regards smilie

Julie
