Messagereally fine pics linda. i live around the block from you and notice what birds come and go. that pic of the wren with bug is that a canyon wren? the bug looks like a cricket. we have bewicks wrens here but not this year. also this year the common spotted towhee and nuthatch are gone. every year it's a few more species. still, there's lots left. have delightful thrashers. no screech owls lately. grosbeaks, orioles, and tanagers only stay a month or two. phainopepla came back this year after the road widening three year absence. lots going on ward. byeyou

MessageHello,
I was looking at an article that you wrote about Bob and Doi DeWitt, and I thought I'd visit your website. I am currently staying with Doi DeWitt on her ranch. She and her son Bill are well and you may write to me via email if you'd like to know any more.

MessageI love your birds Linda. I'm a wood carver, and you inspire me. Do you happen to have a green heron picture? I love the herons. We are so fortunate to have someone as talented as you in this little town. Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks too, for the things you do for the SPCA....

Best regards, Betty

Message'So What Saw-Whet?' is an adorable book about a lovely owl who rants and raves about his abilities and talents to a somewhat uninterested passerby. In the end the passerby learns more than he bargains for and begins to slowly warm up to the owl, admiring his looks and bidding him farewell.

Through the author's own encounter with a Saw-Whet owl, the reader is taken on a little journey. An educational journey filled with attractive photos of the Saw-Whet owl in the wild. The story is mellow yet very revealing and interesting. It is written in a unique style; a rhyme of questions and answers. Each question and answer gives the reader a little more insight into the life of this beautiful animal. The story concludes with an informative page, which gives a brief profile of the Saw-Whet owl, its characteristics, and feeding habits.

This book is unlike any I have personally read. Its beautiful photos are irresistible and the story is simply charming. I am sure it will be a great keepsake for young children for it brings a piece of wildlife to the reader and reminds him of the beauty of nature.

MessageWe have used your So What, Saw Whet? book in our Head Start/Early Head Start classes and the children have just LOVED them. They love the sing-song lyrics and pick them up really fast, and have also been able to learn about this cute little owl. Congradulations on such a wonderful book! I can't wait for the Hummingbird book to be out!
