Your child may write about why he/she wants to join the school which majors in maths/science, what he/she likes about maths/science, how these subjects influence him/her, what she/he thinks about these two subjects in a way the importance of maths/science.
Hope it helps.

Hi my daughter is planning to get enrolled to NUS High next year (2007). However, I'm still trying to get more info & advice from parents who their kids are already with the school. So if you could, would you mind emailing me some truthful facts?

Hi Hazlinah,
Malay is most certainly offered in the school and in fact several Malay students are enrolled in this school. For more details please contact the school adminstrators.
Cheers.

Hi , I'm a parent whose son had just sat the selection test for 2007 Secondary One intake. I read the finer details that states NUSHigh practises a non-discrimination policy. What surprised me was, when I browsed the subjects that the school offers, I couldn't find Malay Language in the school's curriculum. Aren't there any Malay students in the school currently?

I was at the Principal and Parents dialogue on 4 Mar 2006 for year 1 & 3. I noted some parents coach their 'struggling' children with their school work. How fortunate these children are! I'm not able to coach my son, my husband is out-station most of the time and he has no tutors. He is struggling like everyone else does. I always tell him that if he has any difficulty, he has to open his mouth to ask; no matter how ridiculous the questions may be. He don't ask he won't get. He cannot expect the teachers to always take note of him or his parents (only if nothing else works) to talk to his teachers about his problems all the time. So far the feedback from him is the teachers have been very helpful.

Happy CNY to everyone! I do agree with Ramesh that children should be taught to be resourceful by the faculties involved rather than parents helping them solve complex math and science problems. I suggest that faculty members would advise on resources and references in the modules that they are involved. This would encourage students to source for more information and practices after the lessons.
