MessageDelighted to see your site back up. I've learned a few of your tunes; Tracey Bear and Peel Street in paraticular are great fun. Thanks for putting them up.

If you can contact "Mick" who posted on 2007-2-25 he might like to know that on page 17 of Richard Doherty's excellent history "Clear the Way! A History of the 38th (Irish) Brigade, 1941-1947" there is a picture captioned "The King talks to Pipe Major Lamb of 1st Royal Irish Fusiliers during the inspection." This is perhaps his grandfather that he is enquiring about.

Cheers,

-John-

MessageAh! The memories of 2 R Irish Rangers come flooding back; all the craic and the comradeship and always in the back ground the regimental band bugle pipes and drums setting the pulse racing and keeping morale high. But I'm glad to report, the traditions and the music are alive and well in the Royal Irish Regiment although, alas, now reduced to one battalion. Faugh A Ballagh.
