MessageHi, Deborah! Four jobs I've had: lead guitarist/lead vocalist for a band; radio announcer/DJ; hauling lumber and sheet rock for a construction company; retail sales for Radio Shack. Four movies: "The Sound Of Music"; "Walk The Line"; That's about it for movies. Four places I've lived: Tulsa, Andover KS, Downey and Santa Ana CA. Four favorite TV shows: Dick Van Dyke; Andy Griffith; "Cheers"; "Family Ties" (nothing current). I haven't vacationed enough to have four favorite places, but I traveled for 20 years with a band, and saw most of the country west of the Mississippi. That was one long and enjoyable vacation. Four favorite foods: a bowl of chili, spicy and hot, with saltine crackers; a bowl of pinto beans with cornbread and some raw onion; fried chicken with country gravy and mashed potatoes; some deep-fried fish. Four favorite books: "My Antonia", by Willa Cather; "The Scarlet Letter", by Nathaniel Hawthorne; "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", by Carson McCullers; "Less Than Words Can Say", by Richard Mitchell.
Life is fun, and there are so many things to partake of--most of them, like sunsets and country walks, best enjoyed with a partner. What golden opportunities are there every day!
See you at the conference! Ken Wimbish

MessageI'll try the 'four' questions, however, I haven't read enough the last few years to remember which books. Horror of horrors...I can't remember authors. I am handicapped and take a medicine that destroys memory, but I will try to dredge up what I can. This is one reason I think I should write again!

MessageHi,
I had to stop by again and see that tea set you mentioned. I almost fell off my chair. It's the same Blue Willow pattern my mother had when I was growing up. I bought a single piece recently at an antique shop so I'd it for the memories. (Hers was broken and lost in all of our moves when I was a child.)

Loved the pictures of the puppies. Reminds me of Bingo when he was young.

Take care and I'll see you again sometime.
Hugs,
Martha

MessageYour tea set is the Blue Willow pattern. I grew up with that pattern, as it was my mother's favorite. Now, my daughter uses it.
I do like the "4's" - - I discovered we have quite a bit in common. I'll visit with you some day about that. (This might be a great way to informally "get to know" the CWF members better -
do one "4" each month. Let's try to remember that
for next year.)
Thanks for sharing. See you at the conference.
Martha

MessageHello Deborah. I think your website is wonderful. I have always been fascinated by Kansas. I think it comes from being a Wizard of Oz nut. That and the fact that I think it's cool to live in the geographic center of the contiguous United States. Thanks for the glimpse into your life and work. The puppies are still adorable.
