| Message | Hi.Happy new year to those of you that either know or remember me. I've been out 11 years now, live just outside Catterick Garrison. Be great to hear from people like Blandy/Gary Teale/Terry/ Phil Skidmore/George/Brab. I was sorry to read about Dennis O'Kane,if anybody speaks to him soon pse pass on my best wishes. I have done the Paras 10 up in here in the garrison for the past 2 years, raising money for Help for Heroes. My son in law was badly injured in Afghan in Feb 2009. The 10 miler route here is pretty much as I help set up when when we moved P company up here in 1992 I think it was. It's well supported, over 2000 took part in Sep 2009. When is the 10 miler in Brecon and how do you get involved? Hope to get to the next reunion in March 2010, be great to catch up with some old buddies. Best wishes, Nick ( Big nose to pig skidmore!) email: [email protected] |

| Message | FAO Danny Harris, SAS.. Helmund province I am a very good friend of Sammy Adams. He has been my next door neighbour in Doncaster for the past year. As you said in your previous message, he is battling cancer and i have never met a bloke with such a level of courage and determination like him, he has got a massive heart and i really look up to the man. I am posting this as he went away last week to do some work down south. I spoke to him last Saturday and he was in southampton, he said everything was fine. Since then I havent been able to get through to him and I have had no contact from him at all. I am really worried that something has happened or he has been taken into hospital. I know he goes on this site alot and its a bit of a long shot but if any of you guys have been in contact with him or know that hes ok, i would really appreciate a response. If any of you guys speak to him regular can you please get in touch with me as i think he may be in trouble and i dont know what to do. heres my details Jamie Bracken 07837133338 [email protected] again please get in touch with me, danny as your the only person ive been able to find on here thats mentioned sam i would really appreciate you getting in touch with me wether you have heard from him or not. thanks mate. | Message | Served in 3 Para as a bandsman Feb 49 to Feb 54, then re-enlisted in 56, back into the old battalion. Served in "B". SP (Assault Pioneers) & Anti-Tanks, then Air Sergeant. Finished my career(?) as Bde.MT Sgt in '63. In '82 both myself and another ex 3 Para (wartime) started the British Airborne Forces Association of Canada, meeting in Toronto once a month. Perhaps my E mail address will bring back fond memories of those lovely, comfortable, cosy barracks that we lived in, off and on in Aldershot. I'm sure that most were probably built at the time they were given those names of Napoleonic battles. It must be sheer hell living in your own bedroom now-a-days with all the comforts of home!!! All the best Terry Lawton. (sorry, I was never given a nickname, only rude names) email: [email protected] |
