MessageThis is Jasmine from Pate School. I asked my mama to look up your website so I could see all the stuff you have created. It is all beautiful!! I would love to learn how to create things like you.. I just wanted to let you know that your work is amazing, and your husbands work is too. Maybe when I go back to the library you will be there and we can talk more about your work.. My mama said she would love to have you sketch a picture of our family. Hope to see you soon.. smilie

MessageI am a teacher of art education at Winthrop University as well as a teacher of art at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill SC. I had the privilege of hearing you speak at a SCAEA conference years ago and have admired your work for years. At Northwestern we have a large art department and as of two years ago, offer a course in 3-D processes at the Art III level. This year, I am featuring your work and students are creating whimsical clay works inspired by their favorite illustrators as I know that you have been inspired by Dr. Seuss amongggg others. I intend to purchase your book on the Patz Fowle technique and have found all the information that I can via the internet including a video clip wherein you create an elephant. If you have any advice for us, we would greatly appreciate it. At this point I am thinking that they will paint them using acrylic rather than underglaze, so that they can control the outcome a little more, but I am wondering if I should allow them to choose between the two. These students are advanced and can handle most any medium, but clay is one of their all time favorites. Our kiln is ancient and manual, so we do not have access to many of the glazes or processes that I would love to try with them.

At any rate, thank you so much for your work and for sharing it with others. We are so fortunate to have an artist such as yourself in our State. You are truly an inspiration to us all!

God Bless,
Sandy Queen
