| Message | A good thing, Angelo, that you turn your attention to your neighbour, Pope Benedict the whatever number he is. He is a dangerous man.
For me not so dangerous that he might have been a bit careless in quoting something which might offend Muslims, and how easily are so many Muslims offended, it seems.
I am more worried about his desire to re-Christianise Europe, home of the Enlightenment and scientific reason.
His first trip was to Catholic bulwark of Poland, a strong base for his religion, which he hopes might spread out.
Like many Germans, he would appear not to want to have Turkey in the EU and he even had a private meeting with the new Chancellor there. The plan is to mention Europe's so-called Christian roots in a new European Constitution. Just another step... one after the other and before you know it... questions will be asked of all the freedoms we have won since the Enlightenment... and so on.
This man has to be stopped. Fortunately he doesn't hae such a friendly face as his predessessor and again fortunately, he has been seen to make an embarrassing mistake, so maybe his task will be made that much more difficult. |
